Occupational Therapy Clinic in Dubai
Helping Kids Do the Things They Need and Want to Do
Kicking a football. Making a friend. Writing their name. Sitting through class without it becoming a struggle. Getting through homework. Sleeping well. These are the everyday moments of childhood, and when any of them feel harder than they should, that’s a valid reason to reach out.
At Hakkini, our occupational therapists help children build the skills to take part in the moments that matter to them, without needing a diagnosis first to ask for help.
The therapist spent the first session just watching my son play. She wasn't ticking boxes. By the second session, she already understood him better than most adults in his life.

What Does an Occupational Therapist in Dubai Actually Do?
An occupational therapist helps people of all ages participate in the meaningful activities that make up a life.
For children, this might mean building self care skills, managing a classroom, or developing social-emotional skills. For adults, it could mean returning to work or rebuilding independence after illness or injury.

What Families Say About Hakkini
Anonymised and shared with full consent.
We had no idea sensory processing was behind so many of our daughter’s struggles. The therapist gave us language and tools that have genuinely changed how we support her at home.
S.L.
My son refused anything with a soft texture and mealtimes were a daily battle. After sensory integration therapy at Hakkini, he is trying new foods without the meltdowns.
A.K.
The assessment was thorough and kind. We finally understood why our daughter struggled with handwriting when she was clearly so bright. The school programme made an immediate difference.
F.H.
I booked occupational therapy for myself after burnout. My therapist helped me rebuild a daily structure that worked around my energy, not against it.
M.R.
My son had seen other therapists before Hakkini. The difference here is that they listened to him, not just about him. He comes out of sessions proud of himself.
N.M.
The home sensory programme has become part of our daily routine. Our mornings used to be chaos. Now there is a rhythm. Our whole family feels the difference.
P.T.
We came unsure whether our daughter needed OT or something else. The team guided us without pressure. By the end of the assessment, everything made sense.
R.S.
I was nervous about seeking help as an adult. My therapist made me feel at ease immediately. The strategies are practical, realistic, and actually fit into my life.
C.B.
Three years of wondering why our son found the world so overwhelming. One assessment at Hakkini gave us more clarity than everything that had come before.

Your Questions Answered
Do I need a referral to book occupational therapy in Dubai?
No. Contact Hakkini directly no referral required. Our team identifies the right licensed occupational therapist for your needs and can liaise with your GP, paediatrician, or school if helpful.
What is sensory integration therapy in Dubai and who is it for?
Sensory integration therapy is an occupational therapy approach for children and adults with sensory processing disorder or hypersensitivities to touch, sound, or food textures. Sessions at Hakkini are play based, individualised, and always led by the child’s interests and comfort level.
How is occupational therapy different from speech therapy or psychology?
Occupational therapy focuses on activities of daily living dressing, eating, handwriting, and managing a school day. OT bridges the gap between how a person’s brain and body function and what they need to do each day.
How does occupational therapy work for children at Hakkini?
Each child’s individualised treatment plan covers sensory processing, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, attention, and self-care. Sessions are play-based and child-led. A home programme is provided so progress continues between visits.
Will my child receive a diagnosis through occupational therapy?
Not necessarily. A formal diagnosis is not always needed to begin therapy. Where an assessment suggests a profile such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, or Sensory Processing Disorder, this is discussed honestly and with your child’s whole picture in mind.
How do I know if occupational therapy or another service is right for us?
You do not need to figure that out first. Just share what you are noticing and our team will guide you to the right starting point – whether that is occupational therapy, sensory integration therapy, psychology, or a combination.
