Marta Candela Maestre
Marta Candela is a Specialist Occupational Therapist with more than 12 years of clinical experience in the United Kingdom, working across both the NHS and private sector. She has extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults with developmental, neurological, cognitive, sensory, and functional needs.
Marta has worked with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), developmental delays, sensory processing differences, dyslexia, and neurological conditions. She provides individualised, evidence-based interventions to help children develop their skills, confidence, independence, and participation in everyday activities.
Her specialist areas include paediatric assessment, sensory integration, cognitive rehabilitation, neurorehabilitation, upper-limb rehabilitation, postural management, and the development of personalised therapy programmes. These programmes support children’s participation and success at home, at school, and within the community.
Marta is passionate about inclusive, compassionate, and child-centred care. She works closely with children, families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to create supportive environments in which every child can thrive, learn, and reach their full potential.
Alongside her Occupational Therapy practice, Marta delivers animal-assisted therapy in the UK with Max, her Golden Retriever therapy dog. Max has been recognised as a therapy dog within the NHS.
